CCA volleyball loses to Lowndes Academy

The CCA varsity volleyball team faced Lowndes Academy on Tuesday, Sept. 15.
The starters for the first match were Railey Ayers, Emily Holley, HeartLee Pittman, Meredith Missildine, Brittany Lester and Lillian Carroll.
The Cougars trailed Lowndes during the first half of the match until Leelee Kilpatrick stepped in to tie the score 11-11 with five great serves in a row. Carroll blocked several spikes at the net.
The Cougars fought hard against Lowndes but ended match one with a loss, 25-20.
The Cougars struggled in match two and suffered a loss of 25-10.
The Cougars roared into the third match as Ayers scored the first seven points of the game with her serving skills.
The Cougars continued to battle and, at the first time out, they were beating Lowndes 16-12. However, the Lowndes Rebels came back to win the third match with a score of 25-20. Crenshaw head coach Mallory Floyd said that she sees improvement in the play of the Lady Cougars.
