The Greenville City Council approved a $41,341.04 payment Monday for storm drain improvements on Overlook Road.
The repairs were made to prevent flooding in the area during times of heavy rain.
“We’ve had drainage issues there and hopefully this will fix that,” Mayor Dexter McLendon said. “They’ve done a really good job over there.”
Southern Sand and Gravel installed 160 feet of 65-inch drainage pipe and 20 feet of 30-inch pipe.
The pipe was purchased with funds from last year’s budget.
The city paid Southern Sand and Gravel $36,100 for the labor to install the pipe, as well as two headwalls and stone.
The city also paid $2,500 to Asphalt Specialists for repairs to Overlook Road and $2,741.04 to MidSouth Paving for 38 tons of asphalt.
