A couple that allegedly attempted to steal two flat screen televisions from Walmart has been arrested.

James Anthony Pate, 30, of Andalusia, and Brandi Jo Shows, 35, of Greenville have been arrested and charged with theft of property, second degree. Shows was also charged with resisting arrest.

According to authorities, Pate and Shows attempted to take two televisions out of Walmart without paying on July 30.

“The loss prevention officer confronted them at their vehicle as they attempted to load the televisions,” Capt. Justin Lovvorn said. “He asked for their receipt. They were unable to produce a receipt for the televisions and got in their car and drove off.”

Store officials then contacted the GPD.

The pair was arrested on July 31.

“We were able to recover all the property and return it to Walmart,” Lovvorn said.
