The Butler County Retired Educators Association will hold its annual “Fill the Bus” campaign Aug. 7-9.
Retired teachers will be at Walmart to collect school supplies for students, teachers and nurses of the Greenville, Georgiana and McKenzie public schools.
Organizers have invited officials with the Butler County School System, the City of Greenville, the City of Georgiana, the Town of McKenzie and Butler County to attend the kickoff, which will be held Aug. 7.
The “Fill the Bus” campaign coincides with the state’s sales tax holiday.
From 12:01 a.m. Aug. 7 to midnight Aug. 9, the state, the City of Greenville and Butler County will waive their sales tax on items such as school supplies, books, computers and computer equipment.
