Angels fall in battle with Taylor-Rehobeth

A single run was all the Greenville Dixie Angels needed for a majority of their game against Taylor-Rehobeth in an elimination match.
But Taylor-Rehobeth overcame Greenville’s otherwise stellar defense in the bottom of the fourth and slipped in a pair of quick runs for a 2-1 lead and, ultimately, the win.
It was a battle won largely from the circle as a strong pitching staff from Taylor-Rehobeth kept Greenville off the bases for the majority of the game.
But Greenville’s own defense was just as impressive as pitcher Anna Parker Little caught a runner at first with a pickoff in the bottom of the third that ended Taylor-Rehobeth’s momentum immediately.
Unfortunately for Greenville, a bungled pitch at home plate allowed Taylor-Rehobeth to steal its first run in the bottom of the fourth.
Fatigue mounted for the Greenville’s defense as the inning dragged on, and the tide turned permanently in Taylor-Rehobeth’s favor as the team sealed its 2-1 victory with a decisive strikeout in the fifth.
