Blake DeWitt, a student at Auburn University’s College of Veterinary Medicine, received the J.E. Bartels Radiology Award and the G.J. Cottier Scholarship at the 2015 Clinical Awards Celebration.
DeWitt is a Greenville native and is the daughter of Brenda Scott-Bush.
J.E. Bartels Radiology Award is presented to a student who is outstanding in veterinary radiology. This award is sponsored by the radiology faculty in honor of Dr. J. E. Bartels, former radiology department head.
The G.J. Cottier Scholarship is presented to an outstanding student with an interest in large animal practice. Dr. George John Cottier, Class of 1929, was loved and admired by the hundreds of Auburn veterinary graduates to which he taught avian courses. He was also renowned as a breeder of prize-winning dairy cows.
The awards program recognizes the achievements of students during their clinical rotation portion of their educational experience at the College of Veterinary Medicine.
