UPDATED: Pine Level teenager killed in wreck

A single-vehicle crash at 2 a.m. Sunday, May 3, has claimed the life of a Brantley teen.
Griffin Carter Jones, 18, was killed when the 2010 Dodge Charger he was driving left the roadway, struck two utility poles and several trees before catching fire. Jones, who was not using a seat belt, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The crash occurred on Alabama Hwy. 87 four miles north of Zion Chapel.
Jones was a graduate of Elba High School and lived in the Pine Level community. He is the son of Starla Jones of Brantley and John Jones of Bristol, Penn.
Nothing further is available as Alabama State Troopers continue to investigate.
