Tee-off time is fast approaching as the Fort Dale Academy Athletics Club preps for its annual four-person scramble golf tournament on May 9 at Cambrian Ridge.
The decade-long tradition was started to generate extra funds to support the school’s athletics department.
This year’s entry fee is $100 per player or team member, and $400 per team.
The fee covers 18 holes of championship golf, the golf cart rental, range balls, use of the practice green, lunch during the awards ceremony and the chance to win door prizes.
The FDA Athletics Club is also extending an invitation for local businesses to get involved by offering a $100 sponsor hole, which allows for a given business’s sign to be placed out by one of the holes on the course that will be visible to all participants.
The business will also receive a special mention during the awards ceremony at the conclusion of the tournament.
Though it’s recommended that entrants register as four-man teams, individuals can register and be placed on a team afterward.
Birdie Packs will also be on sale for $25, which include two mulligans and one chance in the drawing for a Yeti cooler and a turkey courtesy of Bates Turkey.
Prizes will be awarded to the top three teams with the three highest, in addition to awards offered for the ball hit closest to the pin and longest drive in both the men’s and women’s division.
The registration deadline is May 9, the day of the event, and will begin at 6:30 a.m. that morning.
The driving range opens at 7 a.m. and the shotgun start is slated for 8 a.m.
Registration forms can be found at Fort Dale Academy or at www.fortdale.com.
