It’s getting to be that time of year again when we get ready to start planting our gardens. Of all the vegetables we grow, tomatoes are probably the favorite. So what can you do with tomatoes besides put them in a salad? One idea is to make homemade salsa. The Alabama Cooperative Extension System in Crenshaw County is offering a canning workshop that is “All About Salsa.”
During this workshop, you will learn how to make delicious salsa fresh from your garden. You will also learn how to plant your own salsa garden. Each participant will receive a free “Home Food Preservation” book from the Alabama Cooperative Extension System.
The workshop will be held Tues., April 28, at the Crenshaw County Extension Office located at the Courthouse on the second floor in Luverne, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. in the afternoon.
Pressure canner testing will be available at the workshop. The cost of the workshop is $5. For more information and to register for the workshop, please contact the Crenshaw County Extension Office at 334-335-6312.
