Greenville city council approves tractor purchase

Greenville’s City Council approved a resolution to authorize the purchase of a tractor for the public works department through the state bid at its meeting on Monday night.
In its first act of new business at the meeting, the council voted to authorize the purchase of a Kubota Tractor for the city department.
In other business, the council approved the change order No. 1 for the Dunbar Park sports lighting as part of the CDBG recreation grant;
• authorized the contract renewal for the Magnolia Cemetery grounds maintenance and other mowing services for April 1-Oct. 31, 2015, based on a bid renewal clause;
• approved expenditures for Richardson Athletics for $1,454.57 for the rubber flooring from the YMCA in Montgomery; for Bryan Tree Service for $1,000 to cut 15 dead trees at Sherling Lake; for Terrell Enterprises for $1,623.12 for 12 4-foot-by-7-foot storage shelf units for the police department, which $1,449.06 of it will be paid with a BJA Grant Funds; for Powell Tractor for $1,900 to replace all rear axles on bushhog No. 17E; and for the Coca Cola Bottling Company for $1,423.42 for the baseball complex concessions start up inventory for the new season.
The next city council meeting will be held Mon., March 9, 2015.
