Byrl Davis Tate

Mrs. Byrl Davis Tate, 93, a resident of Glenwood, died Mon., Jan. 26, 2015.  Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wed., Jan. 28, 2015, at Glenwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Clarence Crowe and  Jim Tate officiating.  Interment followed in Providence Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mrs. Tate was preceded in death by her husband, James Wilson Tate; her parents, Willie and Hattie Warrick Davis; one sister, Sue Beth Davis Carroll; five brothers, Joe Davis, Horace Davis, M.K. “Mink” Davis, Melvin E. “Fats” Davis and Raymond Davis.

She is survived by two children, Peggy Tate (Don) Bell and Morris (Ann) Tate; six grandchildren, Andrea Toole, Angela (Jeff) Luckie, Allison (Steve) West, Jim (Judith) Tate, Will (Spring) Tate and Matt (Misty) Tate; 15 great-grandchildren, Darryl (Tobey) Mitchell, Jherri (Matt) Yelverton, Chandler Luckie, Lili West, Luke West, Levi West, Tate Treiber, Courtney Fortunato, Trey Tate, Emily Tate, Ashley Tate, Annslee Tate, Avery Tate, Ty Tate and Aubrie Tate; four great-great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mary Davis (Layton) King, Patricia Davis (Edward) Barnett, and Martha Davis (Earl) Ellis; three brothers, Johnny (Anna) Davis, Paul W. “Dook” (Jane) Davis and Claude ‘Poodlum” (Joyce) Davis.

Active pallbearers were Keith Davis, Eddie Barnett, Vince Lucido, Kenny Davis, Tim Davis, Daryl Davis, Neal Davis and Paul Davis.
