Members of the Greenville Fire Department proudly wear pink in honor of national breast cancer awareness month.

The t-shirts the firefighters are wearing were designed by the GFD and promote faith, courage, strength and hope.    Captain Les Liller said members of the GFD wear the shirts the entire month of October in honor of breast cancer awareness month.

“This is the third year that we’ve done this,” Liller said.

“We all wear the shirts and have additional shirts on hand available for purchase for $12.  All of the funds generated from the t-shirt sales are donated to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation,” Liller said.

The Susan G. Komen Foundation’s mission is to save lives and end breast cancer through education, research and grants to help provide financial and emotional assistance.
