Dr. Ginny C. Wilson

Dr. Ginny C. Wilson, age 63, a resident of Highland Home, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 18, 2014. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, Oct.21, 2014 from the Chapel of Turner Funeral Home with John Dickinson and Danny Rolling officiating. Interment followed in Sardis Cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing. Dr. Wilson was a graduate of Highland Home High School, Troy University and Auburn University Montgomery. She received her Ph.D. in counseling from Walden University, and was employed for many years as a teacher and guidance counselor with the Crenshaw County Board of Education, as well as being a published poet.
Dr. Wilson was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie M. and Florelle Buck Wilson. She is survived by her brother, Dwight Wilson.
Active pallbearers were Ricky McElwain, Dale Duett, Gerred White, Malcolm Moore, Danny Kelley, and Francis Hoffman.
Honorary pallbearers were Carl Massey, James Tidwell, Johnnie Yarbrough, Charles Richardson and the Highland Home High School Class of 1969.
