LBW Community College students in Andalusia recently learned about a preventable tragedy as Susan Lowman, child abuse and neglect prevention coordinator with Healthy Kids, a nonprofit organization based in Butler County, presented “Shaken Baby Syndrome” to combined psychology classes.
Students learned what does and does not cause the trauma, how it affects the brain, and positive behavior techniques to help prevent the abuse.
