Katie Elizabeth Reeves McGough, 84, a resident of Honoraville, Ala., died peacefully with her family by her side Sunday, Sept. 14, after an extended illness. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, Sept.17, in the chapel of Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home with Rev. Joe Leverette officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial will follow in Berea Cemetery in LaPine, Ala. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services on Wednesday. Mrs. McGough was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Pruett McGough; son, Ronnie McGough; grandson, Christopher Lee McGough; and daughter-in-law, Sharon McGough. She is survived by her daughter-in-law, Joan H. McGough of Honoraville, Ala.; sons; Donnie McGough (Mary Helen) of LaPine, Ala., Lonnie McGough of Honoraville, Ala., and Jonnie McGough (Rhonda) of Lapine, Ala.; six grandchildren, Amanda Moseley, Ron McGough (Tina), Benjamin McGough, Jon McGough, Amber Connelly (Coy) and Neal McGough; seven great-grandchildren, Treyton McGough, Reagan McGough, Natalie McGough, Christopher Mosley, J.D. Mosley, Jacob Mosley and Kainen McGough; many nieces, nephews; and three caregivers that are like family, Guynese Eiland, Bonnie Mason and Margaret Foster. Mrs. McGough was born to Luke and Thelma Reeves on April 26, 1930. She was the youngest of three children. God needed a precious angel for His kingdom, so He called her home. Katie was such a sweet and nice person that loved everyone she met. She was very much loved by her family; her family came first in her eyes. She had many friends and will be missed by all. She had a great life, with lots of love and great times shared with her family and friends. The family would like to give a special thanks to Luverne Nursing Home and Comfort Care Hospice for caring for Katie through her sickness.
