McKenzie School will officially unveil its new outdoor classroom Thursday night with a ribbon cutting ceremony.
The McKenzie PTA helped raise the funds for the new outdoor classroom by hosting a color run in April.
Nearly 100 runners took part in the event, including many current and former students of McKenzie School, as well as residents of McKenzie.
“The classroom would not have been possible without the overwhelming support of our community,” said Martha Lewis, PTA president.
Along with the ribbon cutting there will also be a dinner. The concession stand will open at 5 p.m. and will be selling chicken fingers, barbecue sandwiches or hot dogs with fries and a drink for $6.
The school will also hold its Parent Extravaganza on Thursday.
The event is slated to begin at 6 p.m.
“Come and enjoy a great time at a great school,” Lewis said.
