The Butler County Sheriff’s Office arrested a Butler County man Wednesday in connection with a sexual abuse case dating back to 2011.
Charles Kendrick Harrison, 24, of Georgiana, has been arrested and charged with sodomy, first degree, and sexual abuse, first degree, for allegedly having sexual contact with a 13-year-old female.
According to Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden, the victim only recently came forward.
“She came to us with information and our investigators began to look at the case and were able to get warrants for his arrest even though the event happened a number of years ago,” Harden said.
In Alabama, there is no statute of limitations for any sexual offense against victims under 16 years of age.
Harden said Harrison was booked into the Butler County Correctional Facility on a $40,000 bond, but has since bonded out.
