Authorities are looking for two men they say robbed a local pizza restaurant Friday night.
According to officials with the Greenville Police Department, two men walked into Papa John’s Pizza in the Gateway Plaza and demanded money from the cashier.
Police say one of the men was armed with a handgun and the other was armed with a rifle.
The two men got away on foot with approximately $500. Once the men had left the restaurant, the cashier locked the door and called the police.
“We were called to the scene and were able to collect several items of evidence that will be processed at the lab,” said Lt. Justin Lovvorn. “We have developed a lead in this case and will continue to investigate it further until an arrest is made.”
Lovvorn said the evidence collected at the scene should help authorities identify the two gunmen.
Police say they are searching for two black men.
One was described as approximately 5-foot-8 with a stocky build. He was last seen wearing light blue pants, a black t-shirt and a shirt wrapped around his face to conceal his identity.
The second suspect is approximately 6-feet tall with a slim build. He was last seen wearing blue jeans, a blue t-shirt and a shirt wrapped around his face.
Anyone with information on the case is asked to call the GPD at (334) 382-7461 and ask for an investigator.
