The Butler County Commission has appointed Tom Braxton to the Organized Community Action Program board.
Braxton will replace Butler County Commissioner Jesse McWilliams.
“I have enjoyed serving on the board, but it met at the same time (the Butler County Commission) has its workshop meeting,” McWilliams said. “That made it very difficult for me to attend, and that’s my reason for leaving the board. I’m not just stepping down to step down.”
Commission Chairman Frank Hickman said he Braxton will make a good addition to the OCAP board.
“Tom is very active in the community, and I think a good appointment to this board,” he said.
According to its website, OCAP provides programs that help low-income, disabled, elderly and unemployed persons.
