Mr. and Mrs. William Clayton Nolan, of Fort Deposit, announce the engagement and forthcoming marriage of their daughter, Melissa Ann Nolan, to Patton Ross Gunter of Fort Deposit.

She is the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Allen L. Blackburn of Georgiana, and Mr. and Mrs. William V. Nolan of Fort Deposit.

Melissa is a 2008 graduate of Fort Dale Academy and a 2013 graduate of Troy University with a bachelor’s degree in rehabilitation. She is pursuing her master’s degree at the University of Alabama. She is currently employed by Easter Seals Central Alabama.

Patton is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Cecil E. Gunter of Fort Deposit and Mr. and Mrs. Dennis C. Pitts of Southaven, Miss. He is the grandson of Mr. and Mrs. Dorn Patton of Tupelo, Miss., and the late Mr. and Mrs. Norman Gunter of Natchez, Miss.

He is a 2008 graduate of DeSoto Central High School in Southaven, Miss. He is a 2010 graduate of Northwest Community College and is currently employed by the United States Postal Service.

The wedding is set for May 17, 2014, at 5 p.m. at Bethel Baptist Church in Fort Deposit.
