Former students of Liberty School will meet again nearly 50 years after walking the halls of the school.
Harold Turner, a former student at Liberty School will host a school reunion on May 3.
“Liberty School was home to so many students back in my day,” said Turner. “We were all close and had such a good time going to school, learning and playing with one another.”
Liberty School was established in the early 1800s, about a half-mile from where Liberty Methodist Church is today. The school closed in 1965.
Turner encourages former classmates, relatives and friends to attend the reunion.
“Bring your lawn chairs, a covered dish and any memorabilia you might have and just enjoy the day with us as we remember those days from our childhood.”
The reunion will be held at 924 Sandcut Road and is scheduled to start at 11 a.m. Turner said the reunion will take place rain or shine.
Anyone interested in attending the reunion can contact Turner at (334) 382-8989.
