A 12-year-old girl was struck by a car in downtown Greenville Friday night.
According to authorities, the girl ran out into Commerce Street and was hit by a small SUV at approximately 5:45 p.m.
She was transported to L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital for treatment. Officers on the scene said her injuries did not appear to be life threatening.
The girl is the third child to be struck by a vehicle in Butler County this month.
A 2-year-old child was struck by a car on Feb. 10 and later died as a result of the injuries. A 6-year-old child was struck on Snow Drive in Greenville on Thursday. Though the child was transported to L.V. Staler Memorial Hospital via private vehicle, no life threatening injuries were sustained.
