A two-year-old child that was struck by a vehicle on Feb. 10 has died.

Officials with the Butler County Sheriff’s Office are not releasing the name of the child, but confirmed that she died at Children’s Hospital in Birmingham on Feb. 12.

According to Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden, the child ran in front of a vehicle at the Liberty Trailer Park located on Highway 10.

“The child ran up on the blind side of the vehicle, and (the driver) just didn’t see her,” Harden said. “It was a tragic accident.”

The child was transported to L.V. Stabler Memorial Hospital and was then taken by helicopter to Children’s Hospital.
