Mark your calendars, animal lovers.
The Butler County Humane Society (BCHS) is partnering with the Greenville Walgreen’s to celebrate autumn with your furry friends. The event will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 12.
“We will have several tents and tables set up in the store’s parking lot,” said BCHS volunteer Kimberly Matthews. “Folks can bring their pets and have their photos taken in front of a great harvest theme backdrop, and then our pet sitters will look after the animals while customers shop in the store.”
The pet photos will be $10 each, with proceeds going to BCHS/Second Chance Rescue.
A list of needed items for the rescue, such as bleach, paper towels, puppy/ kitten chow and pet toys, will be available at the pharmacy door.
“Customers can either donate supplies or donate $5 for a chance to win the prize of their choice in our raffle — a truly gorgeous gift basket or a $20 Walgreen’s gift card,” Matthews said.
Door prizes, free soft drinks and BCHS T-shirts will also be available. For anyone looking to add a new family member, puppies and kittens in need of a “fur-ever” home will be there, too, said Matthews.
“We really appreciate local businesses like Walgreen’s and Tractor Supply for partnering with the BCHS to raise awareness and raise funds for our mission,” Matthews said. “If you are in town Saturday, please bring your pet or just stop in and donate whatever you can. We really appreciate the support.”
