The Alabama Bureau of Investigation is looking into a shooting involving a Fort Deposit Police officer.

While Sgt. Steve Jarrett, Alabama Department of Public Safety spokesman, confirmed the investigation, he said no details regarding the officer-involved shooting would be released at this time.

“Once the investigation is complete, the facts of the case will be turned over to the district attorney for review,” Jarrett said.

Fort Deposit Police Chief Brandon Thomas said Monday he could not comment on the situation, and Lowndes County Sheriff’s Office officials said the LCSO is not involved in the investigation.
