The Greenville-Butler County Public Library will host its annual book sale the weekend of April 5-6.
The library will offer a special preview sale on Friday, April 5 at 5 p.m. for those readers who want early pick of the books. Admission is $5.
“We appreciate the community supporting our book sale,” said Kevin Pearcey, director of the Greenville-Butler County Public Library. “Proceeds from this sale help us provide programs during the summer. Plus it’s an excellent opportunity for people to pick up some great books at low prices.”
Pearcey said the book sale wouldn’t be possible without the donations of people in Greenville and Butler County. While a small number of the books are library discards, the majority of the stock is made up of books given to the library.
“We accept donations of books throughout the year and by the time the book sale rolls around we have thousands of titles, both fiction and non-fiction, to choose from,” said Pearcey. “So we really must thank the generosity of the people of our community for this book sale.”
The sale on Saturday, April 6 will be 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. There is no cost for admission on Saturday.
Hardback books will cost $1. Paperbacks will be .50 cents. An assortment of CDs, DVDs, VHS tapes and other materials will also be on sale.
