No. 8 Fort Dale Academy topped Hooper Academy 59-53 Thursday night.

Jack Bates led the Eagles with 17 points. He also pulled down 15 rebounds and tied the school record for blocks in a single game with seven.

“We were pretty pumped about playing Hooper tonight,” Bates said. “We played hard, hustled and put in a lot of effort, and that’s what it takes to win.”

Chip Taylor tallied a double-double with 14 points and 11 rebounds, while Taylor Windham added 13 points and five rebounds.

The win improved Fort Dale’s season mark to 13-5 and 2-1 in the Class AAA, Region 2 play.
