Three Butler County teams remained in the top 10 in the latest Alabama Sportswriters Association basketball poll.

Georgiana tops the list of local teams with a No. 6 ranking in Class 1A.

“As far as the ranking, it’s nice to get recognized but its too early in the season to worry about rankings,” Georgiana head coach Kirk Norris said. “It’s really just a number. It’s about how you finish, not how you start.”

Both the Fort Dale Academy Eagles and Lady Eagles are ranked in the AISA poll.

The Eagles own the No. 9 spot in the poll, while the Lady Eagles are ranked No. 8.
