Authorities are looking for two suspects in an armed robbery that occurred early Friday night in Dozier.
Investigator Heath Truman said a call came in around 6:55 p.m. Friday that two black males entered the Dozier Corner Market with what appeared to be a sawed-off shotgun.
“One of them appeared to have a dark blue jumpsuit with a camouflage backpack, and one was wearing a dark-colored hoodie with light gray stripes and black jeans,” said Truman, who also said that their faces were covered by the hoodies and not visible to the surveillance camera.
Truman also said they were between 5 feet 7 inches and 5 feet 10 inches tall.
The two took an undisclosed amount of money from the cash register, along with an amount of Newport cigarettes and gin.
“We’re still looking for them, but we don’t know what direction of travel they took after leaving the store,” Truman said.
The Dozier Police Department will be leading the investigation, and Police Chief Terry Mears can be reached at (334) 818-1400 or (334) 496-3742. Information about the case can also be reported to the Sheriff’s Office at (334) 335-6568.
