GPD investigating string of burglaries

Two local businesses were burglarized early Friday morning after someone broke in through the front door of each business.
At approximately 1:30 a.m., an individual smashed a brick through the glass door at the Shell Deli Mart on East Commerce Street and stole approximately $200, according to Lt. Justin Lovvorn of the Greenville Police Department.
The individual also broke the front door of Credit Central Inc. on East Commerce Street and stole miscellaneous items.
“The gas station was around 1:30 a.m. and then the credit finance place was sometime after that,” Lovvorn said. “We don’t have a definite time on it.”
The suspect has not been apprehended as of yet, but because the Shell Deli Mart caught the individual on video, the GPD has a few leads on the case that are linked to another burglary.
“We do have video on both burglaries,” Lovvorn said. “We have a lead but until we get that we can’t say much about it right now.”
