Lisa Lowe has announced her intent to seek re-election for the Georgiana City Council.

Lowe, who is seeking the District 1 seat, has served on the council for one term.

“I’m still interested in how our town is going to pan out,” Lowe said. “I feel like we have potential, and I want to see it through.”

Through Lowe’s term, she has be a part of the town clean up, installation of the water tower and securing a wastewater treatment grant.

Lowe said if she is re-elected she would work to help the city take advantage of the four-lane highway that is being built through Georgiana.

“We sit in an excellent position to grow but we have to pursue the folks,” Lowe said. “We just have to figure how to create something to create growth. I would really love to see us snag something in jobs and growth.”

The municipal election will be held Aug. 28.
