Donald Thrower , a native of Butler County, Ala., and a resident of Mobile, Ala., for the past 25 years, died Tuesday, March 13, 2012, at his residence. Mr. Thrower retired from the U.S. Army with the rank of Sgt. Major as well as the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny James Thrower, and Winnie Lee Manning Thrower. He is survived by his son Brent Thrower and stepdaughter Terri Thrower. Three sisters, Glenda Wilkes, Janice Piggott and Deborah Killough. Three brothers, James Thrower, Randy Thrower and Travis Thrower. Numerous nieces and nephews and other relatives. Funeral services will be held at Harrison Funeral Home, Saturday , July 14, 2012, at 11 a.m. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. in the chapel. Interment will follow at Siloam Cemetery with full military honors followed by a celebration of life service for all family and friends at the home of Johnny and Janice Piggott, 112 Northgate Road, Greenville, Ala.
