HOLLIS, Mr. John M. “Johnny”, Jr., 68, a resident of Luverne, AL died Monday, June 18, 2012.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM on Wednesday, June 20, 2012 at the Centenary Assembly of God Church with Rev. David Wooten, Rev. Joey Smith, Rev. Robert Carter, and Ashley Kilcrease officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Turner Funeral Home of Luverne directing.

Mr. Hollis was preceded in death by his son, Mykel Manning Hollis, and his parents, John M. & Mary Nell Stokes Hollis, Sr.

He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Janice McCartha Hollis; his daughter and son-in-law, Jae Megan and Ben Fox; his granddaughter, Manning DeLaney Fox; and three sisters, Tula (Dennie) Bludsworth, Mary Sybil (Elton) Mitchell, and Margaret (Walter) Folmar.

Active pallbearers will be Hansel Stricklin, Taylor Kilcrease, Ben Smith, Willie Smith, Ricky Linton, and Wayne Blackmon. Honorary pallbearers included former members of the Centenary and Playmaker softball teams.
