John Albert Little, Sr., a resident of Dothan, died Monday night, May 14, 2012, at his home. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 A.M. Thursday, May 17, 2012, in the Holman-Headland Mortuary Chapel with Reverend Don Webb and Rev. T.P. Martin officiating. Graveside services, with military honors, will follow in Gardens of Memory with DAV Chaplain Clayton Tew officiating. The family will receive friends from 5:00 until 7:00 P.M. Wednesday at the mortuary.
Mr. Little was born in Forest Home in Butler County, Alabama, son of the late John Nolan Little and Erma Perkins Little. He served his country in the U.S. Army during World War II. Mr. Little lived in Montgomery and Birmingham before moving to Dothan in 1968. He retired in 1990 as a truck driver from AAA Cooper Transportation in Dothan. Mr. Little was a member of the Faith Tabernacle Community Church and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter No. 87.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Mae Green Little, a son, David Eugene Little, a sister, Lee Wade and two brothers, Cecil Little and Bill Little. Surviving relatives include a daughter, Tammy Paschal and husband, Jimmy, Newnan, GA; two sons, John Albert Little, Jr. and wife, Shannon, Leesville, LA; and James S. Little and wife, Omega, Dothan; two sisters, Helen Williams, Montgomery, and Ruth Wilson, Greenville, AL; four grandchildren, John Nolan Little, Michael Paul Little, Connie Renee Alexander and Ryan Little; nine great-grandchildren.
