Bentley honors DAR good citizens

The Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR), Fort Dale Chapter, Greenville, Alabama, are proud to announce the four DAR Good Citizen winners from Butler County. Representing Greenville High School- Justin Harville; Georgiana High School, Andrea Burt; McKenzie High School, Nikki Davis; Fort Dale Academy, David Miller. The students, selected by faculty and classmates, exemplify the qualities of dependability, service, leadership and patriotism. DAR members, Annabel Markle (Regent), Anne Feathers (Vice Regent) and Fay Poole (DAR Good Citizen Chairman) escorted the students to Montgomery and the Capitol building, where they received a warm welcome by Gov. Bentley and his office staff. The Governor visited with the students, congratulated them for the honor of being DAR Good Citizens and presented them with embossed coins of the Seal of Alabama. Mrs. Markel gave Dr. Bentley a Greenville Christmas ornament that he placed upon the Christmas tree in his office. Submitted Photo
