SPECIAL TO THE ADVOCATE
As the golden days of November draw near, the 20 members of the Spring Creek Homemakers Club get busy completing plans for the annual Holiday Bazaar. The proceeds from this event are divided among the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department, Safe Harbor, and another worthy cause, which has not yet been selected. The Spring Creek community is noted for its wonderful cooks, and among the items on sale at the bazaar will be cakes, cheese straws, candy and pies. Christmas decorations, hand sewn items, crafts, bird houses and handmade jewelry are included in other sale offerings.
“Two of our ladies are well known for their caramel cakes, one for her coconut cake, another for her cheese straws and another for her divinity,” club president Gloria Hartley said. “We will also have red velvet cakes, pound cakes and chocolate cakes. Those goods go quickly. We will offer free coffee to everyone. Please mark your calendar and join us for a good time.”
The event will be held at the Spring Creek Volunteer Fire Department on Steiner Store Road from 8 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. on November 19, 2011.
