The Butler County Commission approved a contract with the Montgomery County Youth Facility for Detention Care.
Butler County contracts with the Montgomery County Youth Facility for Detention Care for one bed for Butler County juveniles that are incarcerated or held for any reason.
The cost of housing a juvenile at the facility is $85 per day.
In conjunction with that contract, the county also signed a long term detention subsidy contract with the Department of Youth Services, which pays the cost for one bed for Butler County for the fiscal year 2011-2012, should the county need to house a juvenile at the facility on a long term basis.
“This is something we do once a year to have a bed in case we need it,” Butler County Commission Chairman Jesse McWilliams said.
