The Highland Home Flying Squadron fell to the top-ranked Elba Tigers 39-14 on the road Friday night.
The Squadron trailed 32-7 at halftime, but both teams scored a touchdown in the second half.
Kase Kelly scored one touchdown on a one-yard run and he connected with Raheem Berry for the other.
“We played better on defense in the second half,” said head coach Tom Pinkston. “Elba is a very good football team. They’ve got team speed, and we just don’t have that, and that makes for a tough game.”
“They’re number one for a reason,” he added. “I was pleased with our effort as a team, and our kids played hard.”
