Obituary: Phillip Adair Mash

MASH, Mr. Phillip Adair, 85, a resident of Luverne and formerly of Birmingham died Sunday August 21, 2011.
Mr. Mash was preceded in death by his parents, Forrest Adair and Molly Tucker Mash and his sister, Mildred Cannon.
Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Polly Robertson Mash; three children, Phillip Adair Mash, Jr. of Birmingham, Stuart Robertson (Martha) Mash of Luverne, and Audrey Johnston Mash of Atlanta, GA; five grandchildren, Adair (Khristian) McAlister, Phillip A. (Katie) Mash, III, Stuart Mash, Jr., Margaret (Jeff) Holm and Sam Leslie; and three great grandchildren.
He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps during WWII and was stationed in Yokohama, Japan as part of the occupational forces. He graduated from Auburn University and was a member of Kappa Alpha Order and the Auburn Alumni Association.
Until his retirement he was a partner at Mill and Mine Supply Company. He was a member of St. Luke’s Episcopal Church in Birmingham.
A memorial service will be scheduled at St. Luke’s Church.
