19-year-old arrested for assaulting infant

An argument on between a brother and sister ended with a 3-month-old baby at the hospital and his 19-year-old uncle at the Butler County Correctional Facility, according to Sheriff Kenny Harden.
The incident occurred on Sunday at a Georgiana residence.
Emmanuel Harmon Jr., 19, of Georgiana, was charged with assault, first degree, a class B felony. Harmon is currently at the Butler County Correctional Facility awaiting his bond to be set.
Harden said the baby was flipped out of a stroller on the front porch and fell headfirst onto the ground, according to witness statements.
The baby was transported to Georgiana Hospital and then LifeFlighted to Children’s Hospital in Birmingham. Harden said the three-month-old was treated for multiple skull fractures, but has been released and is in stable condition.
Harden said authorities were made aware of the incident after the Department of Human Resources was contacted by Children’s Hospital.
