Dana Griffin Huggins

Dana Griffin Huggins, 98, a resident of Montgomery, Ala., and former resident of McKenzie, Ala., passed away Monday, May 9, 2011.  Funeral Services will be held today at 2 p.m. at McKenzie Methodist Church in McKenzie, Ala., with Rev. Alvin Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow at South Butler Cemetery with Johnson Funeral Home directing.  Mr. Huggins was proud to be able to serve in the Army from 1943-1945 during World War II and The Battle of the Bulge.  Upon returning home, he was a truck driver for a period of time and then became the owner and operator of Huggins Standard Service Station for more than 40 years.  Mr. Huggins is survived by one daughter, Susan Springall and her husband, Fred Springall of Montgomery, Ala.; granddaughter, Dana Springall Webster and her husband, Robert Webster of Birmingham, Ala.; grandson, Drew Springall of Tuscaloosa, Ala.  The family received friends at Johnson Funeral Home in Georgiana, Ala. on Tuesday evening.
