Reward offered in Brantley burglary case

Brantley Police are looking for information involving a string of break-ins that occurred last week.
Police chief Titus Averett said eight businesses around town were broken into last Wednesday, April 13.
“Out of those eight, money was taken from six of them,” Averett said.
He said that only currency was stolen – no coins were taken, and no merchandise was reported taken from any of the stores.
“Most of the places had the back door kicked in, but they went through the front door of one store,” Averett said.
Averett said there have been some copper thefts around the Dozier area, but he doesn’t think they’re related to the Brantley burglaries.
The police department doesn’t have any leads on the case yet, but a $500 reward is being offered for information that leads to an arrest and conviction.
“Hopefully with the reward we will hear some information that will help,” Averett said. “Someone knows who did it, and they may be able to give us something concrete.”
