Adrian Rich, from Georgiana, was selected to be a part of the 1A All-State Boy’s Basketball team.
Georgiana head basketball coach Kirk Norris said that Rich was the first junior he has ever had to make the All-State team.
“We’ve relied a lot on Adrian this past season for his leadership,” Norris said. “He was only one of three returning starters.”
Norris said that towards the end of last year’s season, he started noticing signs that Rich would be an impact player his junior year.
“He’s got a good inside and outside game,” Norris said. “He 6’ 3” and has the ability to take it to the net, but he is also a great perimeter shooter.”
Norris said that Rich is always working to get better, and is a good student.
“With his talent and grades, I think he has the potential to keep working hard and play at the next level,” Norris said.
Rich started 27 out of 27 games during last season, tallying 380 total points for the season, and average of 14.1 points per game.
Rich racked up 275 rebounds averaging 10.2 per game; 60 assists, 2.2 per game; 45 steals, 1.7 per game; and 28 blocks averaging 1 per game.
At the free throw line, Rich found the basket 64 percent of the time.
