The Miss Relay For Life Pageant is returning this spring by popular demand.
The event, originally helmed by the RFL Team Harley’s Angels, will now be sponsored by the Butler County Relay Board. Although the Angels team has disbanded, Relay Board members agreed the popular pageant, a strong fundraiser for Relay, should be continued.
“The Harley’s Angels ladies did a great job with this pageant and we appreciate all the hard work they put into it. We just want to keep it going,” said Relay Chair Galahad Smith.
The 2011 Miss Relay For Life Pageant is slated for April 2 at the Ritz Theatre. Contestants in the birth to six years of age will be at 1 p.m. with contestants seven years and up taking the stage at 7 p.m.
The registration fee is $25 per entrant through March 15, with a $10 late fee added after that date. All proceeds go to the Butler County Relay For Life for the American Cancer Society.
“Because this is a Board-sponsored rather than Team-sponsored event for Relay, any participant can designate her fee go to a particular Relay Team as part of their total monies raised,” said Marie Owens of the Relay Board.
“This is an event that could benefit all our Teams.”
