Irby Leon Golson Jr., age 74, a resident of Ft. Deposit, died on Thursday, January 27, 2011. Funeral services will be held on Sunday, January 30, 2011, at Ft. Deposit Church of Christ at 2 p.m. with Minister Michael Coleman officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home directing.  Burial will follow in Myrtlewood Cemetery.  The family will receive friends on Saturday evening from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home in Greenville, AL.

Mr. Golson was preceded in death by his parents Irby Leon, Sr. & Dorothy Payne Golson and his brother, Samuel Russell Golson.  He is survived by his wife, Carolyn Ward Golson, children, Rachel G. (Johnny) Paulk of Ft. Deposit, Rebecca G. (Malcolm) Callen of Ft. Deposit, Elizabeth Golson Tillery of Orange Beach,, Lee Golson of Atlanta, Ga., grandchildren, Noelle Paulk (Brian) McNeil, Heather Paulk,  Daniel Paulk, David Paulk, Ben Callen, Aaron Callen, Andrew Callen, Adrianne Callen, Laiken Tillery, Lyric Tillery Logan Tillery, Lacey Tillery, great-grandchildren, Luc McNeil, Evan McNeil, brother, Thomas Carl (Linda) Golson of Greenville, AL, and many nieces and nephews.

Active pallbearers will be Daniel Paulk, David Paulk, Ben Callen, Aaron Callen, Andrew Callen, and Thomas Golson.  Honorary pallbearers will be Brian McNeil, Brent Stabler, Jeffrey Stabler, John T. Bender, Jeff Bender, Gene Bender, Ricky Baity, Terry Baity, Sam Golson, Jr. and Rodney Golson.

Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Ft. Deposit Church of Christ.
