The Lady Eagles couldn’t hold on for the win over Glenwood, falling 39-37 after enjoying a lead most of the game.
“This game was sort of the opposite of our boy’s match,” Mantooth said. “We led the entire game almost, but fell apart in the last 3 or 4 minutes.”
Mantooth said the girls struggled to score in the fourth. Trouble scoring, coupled with a defensive breakdown on one of Glenwood’s key players, sealed Fort Dale’s fate, the coach said.
Jessie Langford tallied 18 points for the night and was the only Eagle to hit double digit scoring.
