Roads to close at 6, schools closed

Roads in Crenshaw County will close at 6 p.m. Sunday until further notice.
Crenshaw County Schools and CCA are closed until all county and state roads open.
The County courthouse will also be closed tomorrow, and the scheduled County Commission meeting has been moved to 9 a.m Tuesday.
The Crenshaw County Sheriff’s Department will be monitoring the roads, and anyone on the roads after 6 p.m. will be subject to a ticket on the first offense and possible jail time on the second offense.
If any assistance is needed during the evening, residents are asked to call 911.
Crenshaw County has been placed under an ice storm warning.
Freezing rain and sleet is expected before midnight, continuing to at least 6 a.m.
By noon tomorrow, most of the precipitation will be moved out, but temperatures won’t be significantly above freezing.
The forecast accumulation for Crenshaw County is in the neighborhood of .25″.
In areas that receive .25″ or more of ice accumulation, significant damage to trees and power lines is a strong possibility
