GHS remains hot in the win column

The Greenville Tigers picked up an opening round win in the WQSB Christmas Classic, beating Minor 75-70 behind Patrick Burnett’s 15 points and Za’Darius Smith’s 14-point effort.
The tournament is being played at Albertville, in the school’s new $5 million gymnasium.
Greenville is one of 16 teams from across the state competing in the tourney, which includes No. 9 Guntersville (4A), No. 2 Sylvania (3A), No. 9 Madison Academy (3A), and No. 3 Section (2A).
Greenville plays Section late on Tuesday night.
Greenville is coming off a three-game sweep of the Willie Scott Christmas Classic in Mobile held last week. The Tigers won three consecutive close games, beating Williamson 46-45, Murphy 60-57, and Blount 52-49 to win the tournament.
Greenville (10-3) has won seven straight.
