The Butler County chapter of the American Cancer Society is looking for a few good volunteers—specifically, more committee members to help with the 2011 edition of Relay For Life, the organization’s signature fundraiser.
“Relay takes a lot of people working together to make it a successful event,” said Relay Chair Galahad Smith.
“While we can use more general volunteers, we specifically need someone as our accounting person and we need an online chair who will be able to update information about Relay on a weekly basis.”
Also needed: energetic volunteers who can assist Activities Chair Gerri McGinnis on Relay Night with the full roster of activities planned, including the Chicken Chase, hula hoop contests, bingo, and much more.
“If you have the time and desire to volunteer, we have a place for you,” Smith said.
Relay For Life 2011 in Butler County officially kicks off Jan. 18 at the Wendell Mitchell Conference Center on the LBWCC campus. All team captains and co-captains are encouraged to mark their calendars and plan to be in attendance.
“We’ll have five possible themes picked out and let the captains and co-captains vote for their choice,” said Smith.
