Authorities are on the look out for two male suspects after finding a woman who claimed she was kidnapped and raped after stopping on the side of County Road 40.
Butler County Sheriff Kenny Harden said Crenshaw County Sheriff Department contacted BCSO at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, saying they had received a call from a woman on the side of County Road 7.
“The woman reported that she had been kidnapped, raped and left on the side of the road,” Harden said. “After talking with her, we determined that she was taken from County Road 40 around 5:15 p.m. Saturday afternoon.”
Harden said that the woman had reportedly stopped on Saturday to assist two motorists in a white van that was parked on the side of the road. The victim said that when she stopped, the two men pulled a gun on her and pulled her into the van.
The victim was treated at Luverne Hospital and has been released, Harden said.
Law enforcement is now on the lookout for two men who were last seen in a late model white work van. One suspect is believed to have short red hair and a red goatee, while the other suspect has short sandy-blond hair and multiple tattoos.
The case is currently under investigation, and anyone with information regarding this case can report it to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department by calling 383-6521.
